Why Nutrition is Important

Optimal nutrition ensures the best platform for your athletic success.  Not only this, nutrition is at the root of all physical and mental health issues.  Ensuring your physical functioning is in order will allow you to perform at your absolute best, not just in your physical training, but in everyday life.  Being able to focus, make complex decisions, start your day without a coffee, be optimistic and feel happiness and joy; these are all by-products of providing your body with the fuel it needs.  And the fuel your body needs, is going to be different to the person next to you.  We are all so individual.  Do you know what REALLY fuels your engine?  Do you REALLY know how to feed your machine?

One on one nutrition coaching is not just available to members, this is for anyone wanting to clean up their plate.

What is a Nutrition Coach?

A nutrition coach is a non-registered nutritionist who not only provides advice on nutrition, but also coaches and supports clients to make positive changes in their lives.  They work on changing attitudes and behaviours towards food and encourage seeing food as a fuel, and a tool for performance.  This is perfect for athletes, as they need fuel to train, however they may not always understand how food is affecting their body.  A nutrition coach can work with a client to pinpoint deficiencies, digestive problems, and help enhance their performance through their diet.  They can also just be a sounding board and a fantastic ongoing support for a client wanting to make their way back to a healthy weight.

What Does a Consult Entail?

The initial consult entails the coach and client developing a relationship, with the client expressing what their personal expectations are and what goals they want to meet.  Depending on the client’s needs, the session will evolve naturally in line with the necessary dietary and lifestyle adjustments and additions that will help them on their journey.  All sessions thereafter are for ongoing support, guidance and continual tweaking of the diet and behaviours of the client to assist them in achieving their personal goals.

Meet Our Nutrition Coach

Claire is incredibly passionate about food and nutrition.  Her particular interest is in how digestive system functioning affects nutrient absorption, and how food that is digested efficiently affects physical and psychological functioning.  After completing her certificate to be a personal trainer, Claire started studying nutrition.  She began with a general certificate in nutrition, then completed her Certificate IV in Food Coaching with vigorous filmed assessments. This allows her to coach clients whilst she finishes off her studies; Bachelor of Psychology and Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy).  She has very sound knowledge in the area of nutrition, especially when it comes to athleticism and overall healthy functioning.
