Garakowa: Restore the World

One day, Dual and Dorothy discover a new virus attacking a girl. Soundtrack is (mostly) lovely, even if it is sparse for the most part. Frankly, what made me watch this film was its relatively short length, so I'll describe its positive and negative aspects. The movie opens up with lush scenery of 21st Century Japan in autumn. Characterisation is mostly non-existent, especially in Dorothy and Dual's cases. Mikiya accompanies her to his apartment where she falls asleep... What I liked? The 2 anti-virus programs go about their existence with little questioning, but one named Dual starts to show emotion for the deletions that she is forced to do. A third girls arrives, and her motivation, purpose and history is unclear. But she has more to her than meets the eye, and this resolves as you find out more about her. So when they are talking programs and upgrades I felt at home. I believe a chair is thrown. The girl finally awakens. Great sound design. One day, Dual and Dorothy discover a new virus attacking a girl. Garakowa will catch you within the first five minutes of the movie with its visuals, introductory mini-story (which sets the stage for the rest of the anime), and characters. A 15-year-old boy and 27-year-old woman find an unlikely friendship one rainy day in the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden.
