It so hard to believe that this is Leo Carew’s debut novel as it is like it must have been bubbling to get free. This was a pretty good fantasy debut. Finally, another fantasy book I genuinely thought was great! The giants of the northern Black Kingdom, the Anakim, face an invasion from the smaller but more numerous Sutherners from across the river that has been the border of a long but fragile peace.
