The special effects were good and I don't understand why people were saying it was too much. Don’t worry, it won’t take long. The story was historically accurate but the plot was pretty boring.

Agree with other reviewer, this is the best war movie in a long time, it went through three historical events, attack on pearl harbor, doolittle Tokyo air raid and battle of midway linked together with a human story of a dive bomber pilot, and what a great history/story telling it was. Drama And the plot can be a little hard to follow at times, with all the different characters and battle scenes. CGI was not that bad, especially for fast paced scenes. Was this review helpful? |

Just because a movie is thoroughly watchable doesn't mean it's particularly good. As for the critics that wrote negative reviews and trashed this movie, I think attributes to a lot of what is wrong with this country today.

We helplessly watched as thousands of American soldiers, sailors and Marines in the Pacific Islands and the Philippines were made captive, beyond the reach of our aid. It told the story amazingly and it dived right into what it's all about. | Rating: 2.5/5 That said, this movie feels like clash in management.

Given the Historic event and the heroism associated with it, just how Emmerich managed to produce something so uninspiring and lifeless is beyond me. In a superb performance, actor Patrick Wilson portrays Nimitz’ Intelligence Officer as capable and prescient, which he was.

The 1976 Midway was much better Unlike Bay's Pearl Harbor or the older Midway movie there is no wasted time on silly romances. 6:34

July 24, 2020 No actors involved in "Midway" will be nominated for an Oscar. Also the dragginess of Eastwood and the gore of Spielberg are not present here. Abundant, not-quite-realistic computer-generated images make Midway look more like a video game than a depiction of real-life events. From the beginning, “Midway” has awkward dialogue and an atmosphere that seems a bit too 2019, but for a time, the movie’s high stakes make up for that.
