Also select Show Cover Page in Two Page View. If you would like to view one page at a time, then the page can be scrolled up/down by moving the mouse pointer upwards/downwards.

(Well, maybe you can use a tool such as PDF2ID from recosoft.com) But for what you want, perhaps the best thing is to create a new document in InDesign and use File > Place to import the pages of the PDF.

Like any PDF reader, it also provides an instant print selected pages, search zoom, and hotkey options.
After opening the PDF in Acrobat, you can adjust the view (View > Page Display) to show the spreads. Ultimately, you cannot control where someone will view it, or even what kind of PDF reader they will use. Primitive self-publishers like me who use MS Word to format book interiors can easily make PDF versions if they’ve installed Adobe Acrobat Pro. Unfortunately, we don’t have a lot of Acrobat tech support here on this site. Exactly what I need to make my multi-page pdf’s look more professional.Thank you David for taking the time to create this tutorial!
