the teacher's pet podcast review
He's a star footballer and popular high school teacher.
Good story but needed some more editing.

However the language the podcast uses about a child that was groomed and then abused by an adult male teacher is unacceptable. But when Lyn goes missing, dark secrets are buried.
Well done podcast. It was so repetitive.
It would have been more impactful if they had edited the series better.
Long winded and redundant. And Greg Walsh, Chris's experienced lawyer, flags some of the issues and claims which are important to him and the accused.Nearly 37 years after Lyn Dawson disappeared, police have arrested Chris Dawson over the alleged murder of his wife, taking him into custody and preparing his extradition to Sydney where he will face court. This story could have been told in half the number of episodes. It’s also completely heartbreaking!
That seems like a perfect opportunity to get rid of a body. And the “further details will be discussed in future episodes” drove me crazy. I'm just here to avoid work.
The story was intriguing but facts, interviews, etc. This is a great podcast overall and I commend you for bringing attention to this case. Bravo. The content is excellent but the audio levels are annoyingly variable.
They were a picture of happiness — young, beautiful and successful, and now with two adorable daughters Shanelle and Sherryn.Lyn was devoted to Chris and the girls but friends became concerned when they started to notice bruises on her porcelain skin.Vulnerable Joanne lived with her mum and stepdad, a violent alcoholic, in a tiny and cramped flat. I thoroughly enjoyed this podcast. I feel like I listened to the same episode 12 times. The Teacher’s Pet is the podcast that’s currently gripping Australia. I’m on episode 5 of what seems to be too many episodes and they just keep repeating the same stuff.
The narrator is trying to convince you the entire time of his belief with no impartiality, and one of the most biased and subjective podcasts that exists.
Well-researched, fact-based old-fashioned journalism. I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts and this one did not have a great flow to it. Great podcast.
Chris Dawson with his wife Lyn in a clip from TV show in 1975 Podcast features rugby ace Chris Dawson, his missing wife and teen lover Joanne Curtis leaves Coroners Court after giving evidence at the inquest into the death of Lyn Dawson Even though Lyn’s body has never been found, two separate coroners in Sydney, Australia, have concluded that Chris killed her Joanne and Chris moved to Queensland’s Gold Coast two years after her disappearance, where they married — sickeningly, with Lyn’s wedding ring slipped on to Joanne’s finger The world knows. This podcast could’ve been half as long. No stone left unturned.
She adored the attention she got from authoritative Chris. It is alleged that her older lover arranged for the impressionable teen to have sex with his twin Paul — both alone and as part of a threesome with Chris.Unaware of what was going on, Lyn encouraged the bond Joanne shared with her two daughters. So Lyn confronted Joanne and allegedly said to her: “You’ve been taking liberties with my husband.”In a police statement, Joanne claims she replied: “I didn’t know what to say,” and left the Dawsons’ home in the suburb of Bayview to stay with Chris’s twin Paul.In December 1981, Joanne and Chris “ran away” to start a new life in Queensland. I listened to all the episodes hoping that something different would happen, but nope.
The timing may have been a surprise, but he’d known for a long time that this day may come.
Lynn deserves justice. When the knock on the door came, the 70-year-old was calm. Asking leading opinion questions of persons who have little to no actual contact with the events is enough to curl a barrister’s stomach. I agree with other reviewers, I feel like I listened to the same episode numerous times.
They dug up the couple’s garden at their former home and unearthed a cardigan with what appeared to be slash marks — but no body.
I remember hearing bits and pieces of this on the news as I was growing up.
And Lyn's daughter Shanelle has final words in honour of her mother. This podcast could’ve been half as long. By not doing so you are causing harm and normalizing this abuse which I know is not the intent of the podcast. Mr Dawson's intense sexual affair with a 16-year-old Cromer High schoolgirl, Joanne Curtis, is the subject of The Teacher's Pet – a new true crime podcast by The Australian. He's an investigator FFS.
