This feature-length documentary is featured on the 4-Disc Star Wars Trilogy DVD set, released in September of 2004. But I digress. I had the chance to sit down and watch the 2004 documentary "Empire of Dreams: The Story of the 'Star Wars' Trilogy" now for the first time in 2020. In Empire of Dreams, the most comprehensive documentary ever created on the making of the movies, explore the creation of Star Wars, including the trials George Lucas and his team underwent to create a saga few thought could ever be made. There is perhaps a bit of patting on the back going on, as the special mentions just *how many* nominations and wins the films got, and how important it was, and so on and so forth, but this doesn't keep it from being worth watching. The visual/special effects and financial problems are explained as well as casting, editing, scoring and releasing the films with tons of archival footage and interviews with plenty of cast & crew members. 4 out of 5 found this helpful. This was due to his strained relationship with Lucasfilm and George Lucas in particular (due to an incident for which the actor was unfairly blamed), which also led to Prowse subsequently being banned from attending official Star Wars fan conventions. Each main member of the cast, including Kenny Baker(R2D2), and Anthony Daniels(C3PO) - who sounds a lot like his character even when he's just speaking normally - and Peter Mayhew(Chewbacca). This film is an excellently shot documentary about parkour and free running on rooftops. A thief who steals corporate secrets through the use of dream-sharing technology is given the inverse task of planting an idea into the mind of a C.E.O. Was this review helpful? We get some background on George Lucas' start in the business and then continue with the making of Star Wars (1977), Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983). An in-depth making of documentary about the original Star Wars trilogy, covering the productions of the three films and their impact on popular culture. Star Wars has been a part of my life for years. Was this review helpful? In short, a comprehensive informative documentary that documents everything from beginning to end. Hangs Upon Nothing is a film about experiencing life on earth. Empire of Dreams: The Story of the 'Star Wars' Trilogy is a video starring Robert Clotworthy, Walter Cronkite, and George Lucas. With Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson, Jussie Smollett, Bryshere Y. This special starts before the original Star Wars, and after introducing Lucas and setting the scene for the time period, it takes us through the entire trilogy, with clips, interviews and behind the scenes footage en masse(I won't throw on the ever-ambiguous "and more" that is a common favorite to throw on DVD covers and the likes... believe me, if they've got something good to sell you, they know it, and they won't hesitate to tell you, "more" is like "interactive menus"... it makes nothing out of the ordinary sound like a real treat). Since I was born in 1977, I'm what you might call a Star Wars baby. While A Head Full Of Dreams paints a portrait of a largely harmonious band, allusions to darker times are made and moved away from frustratingly quickly. Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Steven SpielbergThis documentary chronicles the making of the original Star Wars trilogy from start to finish. With its strident overtones of son eclipsing father in "The Return of the Jedi" Lucas' space saga fully realized the box office potential of trilogies. David Prowse, who portrayed Darth Vader physically in most scenes of the original Star Wars trilogy, was not interviewed for this documentary, and is only briefly featured through archive footage.
